How to become a member of the true church

    • As members of the body of Christ, which is the True Church.

Eph. 1:22-23 "And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church. Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all."

The Word of God declares that there is one way of entrance therein, and that is, "By one spirit are we all baptized into one body" and that is by baptism of "water and spirit." (I Cor. 12:12-27; Gal. 3:26-28; Rom. 6:3-8; John 3:5; Acts 2:38)

I Cor. 12:12-27 "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; it is therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again, the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more, those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are ncecessary. And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked. That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one to another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Chris, and members in particular."

Gal. 3:26-28 "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus:"

Rom. 6:3-6 "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection; Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin."

John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

The above scriptures state with positive clarity how to become a menber of the true church.

HOW ONE IS DISFELLOWSHIPPED FROM THE CHURCH

Exodus 32:33 "And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinneth against me, him will I blot out of my book."

When we sin against God and fail to repent of our sins, it creates an intolerable state of broken relationship between God and man. The individual losses his status in the church, spiritually and otherwise, until repentance is forthcoming so that the Lord Jesus Christ can cleanse us and restore our fellowship with the church.
